چکیده

in this article, the immobilization of microsomal membranes on fractosil and hexadecylfractosil by hydrophobic adsorption is reported. microsomes were prepared from rat brain and thecatalytic activity of antimycin a insensitive nadh-cytochrome c reductase (nccr), one of themembrane bound enzymes in the microsomal electron transport chain, was chosen as a representative ofthe microsomal membrane enzymes. the effect of ph on the enzyme activity and the effect of membraneconcentration on adsorption was explored. physical adsorption on fractosil and hexadecyl fractosilcaused stabilization when the catalytic potential of the enzyme was followed in a continuous operation.the presence of hydrophobic ligand on fractosil caused higher stabilization of the immobilized enzymeat 25ºc and 4ºc, making it more useful for continuous operations. it is suggested that using supportswith appropriate hydrophobic groups are useful for the immobilization of biologic membranes.

Immobilization of β-Galactosidase in Adsorptive Membranes for the Continuous Production of Galacto-Oligosaccharides from Lactose

A method for immobilization of β-galactosidase from Kluyveromyces lactis on an adsorptive membrane for the continuous synthesis of galacto-oligosaccharides from lactose was carried out. The immobilization was performed at 4, 10, 15 and 40°C. Two strongly basic anion exchange membranes with tradename MustangQ and SartobindQ were investigated. In static experiments, the highest enzyme activity wa...

Non-ionic Adsorption Chromatography and Adsorptive Immobilization of Proteins

Hydrophobic and other non-ionic factors provide many new parameters for the separation of proteins by differential adsorption in addition to the mere difference in charge employed in ion-exchange chromatography. Their application also greatly broadens the range of conditions under which adsorptive protein immobilization, e.g., for the preparation of enzymereactors, is possible.

Recuperative Parametric Pumping in Adsorptive Membranes

Recuperative parametric pumping in adsorptive membranes, a cyclical adsorptive separation process, can lead to two distinct mechanisms of separation: rejection and preferential transport. During rejection, the adsorptive membrane rejects an adsorbing solute while permitting the transport of nonadsorbing solutes. During preferential transport the reverse occurs; the adsorptive membrane selective...

Adsorptive Interactions between Membranes and Trace Contaminants

Widespread occurrences of endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs) in waterways have attracted a great attention of the scientific community. While scientific evidence associated with human health is restricted due to the long-term effects, impacts of EDCs on trout at the common concentration encountered in sewage effluent have been confirmed by both in vitro and in vivo studies. The impacts of st...
